Childhood friends Suzan Sevengil Serez and Ebru Döşekçi opened the first shop in Bebek's Yasemin Pasajı in 2013, and by the second year had rented another unit in the arcade for a kitchen. Tırtıl Kids, led by Gökçe Kalyoncu, bought a majority stake in 2024, and in July 2026 the brand opened in Marylebone, London, in an interior by EBBA Architects.
Kimma Coffee Roasters roasted for the group on a 10kg Probat in 2019, and in 2020 green beans came directly from Ethiopian farmers and through wholesalers from Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica. The brew list takes in V60, syphon, AeroPress, Turkish coffee, and a cold drip that runs for ten hours.
