Rahmi M. Koç opened Turkey's first museum of industry and transport in 1994, in an Ottoman anchor foundry and an 1861 shipyard on the Golden Horn. Its 14,000 objects include steam locomotives, old Istanbul trams, aircraft, and a submarine.
